Mild Steel (MS) Channel, commonly designated as ISMC (Indian Standard Medium Weight Channel) or C-channel, is a hot-rolled structural steel profile with a wide vertical web and two perpendicular flanges on one side. Produced by hot rolling billets through structural shape rolling stands, this cross-sectional profile delivers flexural strength and moment-of-inertia support for one-sided structural and bridging loads. Supplied in grades IS 2062 (E250A, E250BR, E350) and ASTM A36, in nominal section sizes from 75 × 40 mm up to 400 × 100 mm with standard 6-meter to 12-meter straight lengths. Primary producers include SAIL, RINL, and JSPL.
