Mild Steel (MS) I Beam (Indian Standard Junior/Light/Medium Beams – ISJB, ISLB, ISMB) is a hot-rolled structural steel member featuring an I-shaped cross section with tapered inner flange faces. Produced by hot rolling steel blooms or billets through structural reversing mills, it provides load-bearing capacity along the vertical axis, resisting shear and bending forces. Conforming to IS 2062 (E250, E350) and ASTM A36, section depths range from 100 mm to 600 mm (e.g., ISMB 100 to ISMB 600) in lengths of 6 to 12 meters with mill-finish surfaces. Primary producers include SAIL, JSPL, and RINL.
