Prepainted Galvanised Coil (PPGI)

Prepainted Galvanised Coil (PPGI) consists of a hot-dip galvanised steel substrate that undergoes continuous surface cleaning, chemical pre-treatment, primer application, and baking with a topcoat resin (Regular Modified Polyester, Silicone Modified Polyester, or PVDF). The multi-layer composite system provides aesthetic color retention, UV resistance, and dual-barrier corrosion protection. Supplied in base structural grades IS 14246, ASTM A755, and JIS G3312, with zinc base coatings from 90 GSM to 275 GSM, top paint thickness of 18–25 microns, backer coat of 5–8 microns, and total steel thickness from 0.25 mm to 1.2 mm across standard RAL color palettes. Major producers include JSW Steel, Tata Steel (Tata BlueScope), and AM/NS India.
