Produced by rolling steel slabs at recrystallization temperatures above 1,100°C followed by inline leveling and cut-to-length shearing, it provides structural strength, high yield integrity, and surface consistency. Available in structural grades such as IS 2062 (E250A, E250BR, E350, E450),with standard thicknesses ranging from 1.6 mm to 25 mm, widths up to 2,000 mm, and lengths up to 12,000 mm with mill-edge or sheared-edge finishes. Key primary producers include Tata Steel, JSW Steel, AM/NS India, NMDC, SAIL, and Jindal Steel & Power.
