Electro Galvanized Steel (EG)

✓ In stock across regional warehouses

Electro Galvanized Steel (EG) is produced through continuous electrolytic deposition of pure zinc onto a cold rolled steel strip immersed in an aqueous zinc-salt electrolyte solution. Because the process operates at room temperature, it maintains tight steel substrate tolerances and creates a smooth, thin, highly uniform zinc coating without spangles. Available in grades IS 513/JIS G3313 (SECC, SECD, SECE), ASTM A879, with coating weights from 10 g/m² to 40 g/m² per side, thicknesses from 0.30 mm to 2.0 mm, in finger-print resistant (anti-fingerprint), chromate-free passivated, or oiled finishes. Primary sources include POSCO, Nippon Steel, JSW Steel, and Baosteel.
