Galvalume Coil (GL Coil) is a cold-rolled flat steel product coated via a continuous hot-dip method with an alloy composition of 55% Aluminium, 43.4% Zinc, and 1.6% Silicon. The microscopic structure combines the sacrificial galvanic protection of zinc with the barrier protection and heat reflectivity of aluminium, delivering up to four times greater corrosion resistance than standard galvanised steel in industrial and marine environments. Produced in grades ASTM A792, AS 1397, and IS 15961 (SGLCC, SGLCD, G300, G550), with coating classes AZ70 to AZ200, thicknesses from 0.25 mm to 1.5 mm, and resin-coated (anti-fingerprint) surfaces. Leading manufacturers include Tata Steel (Tata Shaktee), JSW Steel, and AM/NS India.
